Karl Scharold Antiques offers a complete line of restoration and repair services including careful conservation, repair, and, if needed, reconstruction, and the use of historically accurate finishes and replacement period hardware, if required. Every effort is made to return each piece to its original state. He specializes in the restoration of furniture, lighting, clocks, and coffee mills. Specifically, for furniture, we offer repair, finish rejuvenation, replacement of missing pieces, re-gluing, veneer work, caning, rushing, and upholstering. For lighting, we offer restoration, prism/glass replacement, and electrification with attention to preservation of integral parts. For clocks, we offer repair of wooden or brass works, replacement of missing or broken parts, cleaning, and case restoration. For coffee mills, we offer repair of mechanism, re-painting, and refinishing. Other services offered include metal plating, re-silvering, gold leafing, gilt and brass cleaning, decorative painting, leatherwork, and frame repair. We do restoration and pickup in both the Houston area and the Hill Country area.
